This blog started as an outlet for a nice bit of fiction every now and then, but more of my real life or real memories keep appearing. Take it all with a grain of salt, though.

You obviously remember much more than I do... sometime, I'd appreciate it if you'd write out some of what you do remember. I wish I knew more about him.

Ah, yes, the house- a gigantic 2 story nestled among ancient oak trees. Large cedar trees line the front porch. There is a chicken coop to one side, a shed out back where grampaw used to park his old Chevy truck, an outhouse, and a barn. Grampaw always spent most of his time in that vinyl rocking chair in the living room, hand rolling those Prince Albert cigarettes (with one hand) and talking to Pop.

I loved my Grandpaw. I miss him terribly.

Thanks for the memories.

An interesting retelling... part of Granpaw's story lives on through your recollection, pulling him out of the shadow. Have you read 'Tuesdays with Morrie'? (by Mitch Albom) An accounting of one mans journey as he deals with dying.
